SME Chapter 21 partners with RESC

In an effort to increase the value to Cincinnati members of SME and RESC , each organization will list the other’s activities on their respective web site.
RESC and Cincinnati SME also seek to ensure that students, when considering career options, will recognize the benefits rendered to themselves and to society by engineers. RESC members bring their experience, knowledge and contacts to help SME in that endeavor. We look forward to working together to ensure that engineering and the sciences continue to receive the importance they deserve

Dr. Pavel gave an overview of the TechSolve systems optimization capabilities for industry, along with a brief history of TechSolve. Amit introduced us to MT Connect, an innovative means of extracting machine, tool and process performance from numerically controlled machine tools. After presentations and dinner, tours of TechSolve’s Highbay machining area were conducted, including the MSC Automated Vending Solution for cost savings stocking high value tooling and shop supplies. Thanks to Paul Benny from Fluid Forming Americas for coming to Cincinnati to present fluid forming capabilities on 9/27, and to the NKU student SME chapter for hosting the presentation. Pictures from the presentation, including sample fluid formed components, shown below.

Thanks to the Clippard Team for hosting the SME Chapter 21 May meeting. We had a good turnout of Senior members, Student members and Guests from partner CPOC organizations. The Clippard shop floor is a Manufacturing Engineer’s paradise, with thousands of Clippard products automating repetitive manual motions and tasks. What do you want Cincinnati Chapter 21 to do for you? Do you have suggestions for plant tours or presentations? Would your company be willing to host our members for one of our monthly presentations, including for a plant tour and presentation on your latest technologies or lean efforts. Do you have a certain expertise that might be of interest to our members? Would you be willing to present and educate our members? If so, please contact the Executive Board.
